3/19: Rough day to be honest. And it's strange because I have no idea why I'm in the dumps. I would love to blame it on Mercury but let's be honest, there is usually something else too right? Either biologically, mentally, or emotionally...So I keep thinking about what it could be. Then I feel stupid because of what I "preach" and struggle to practice myself all the time.

The truth is, no matter how much positivity you manifest in your life, challenges of all sorts will come your way. Sometimes it's really hard to pick yourself out of the muck. So let's shift the thinking...Think of the muck as a mud bath at the spa. Eat your ice cream, sleep and extra hour or two, cancel the night's plans, watch a sappy ass movie and cry your heart out, call out of work (yea, I said it. If we can call out when our body is sick, why shouldn't we be able to offer our mental and emotional states the same respect?). Do whatever your body needs. This also may include a call to your therapist, go for a walk outside, have your very best friend over and cry on their shoulder...

Then, crawl out of the mud, slowly but surely. Progress does NOT have to be instant. If you go too fast, the suction of the muck will only pull you back in like quick sand. Celebrate the little wins.Once you've had your pitty party, and you're ready to get up and moving, set small, small goals. This could look like taking a shower, eating a decent meal, cutting back on screen time by doing some puzzles, yoga, exercise, or meditation, putting away the laundry that has been in the basket folded in your basement for two weeks. Drink water, dance in the rain, have a private concert and dance like nobody is watching. There is always a way out.

Be aware, if you still can't see your way out of the much. Nothing seems to be in reach to help you out, it's time to call your doctor or therapist. And if you are having thoughts of harming yourself or others, please reach out to the mental health hotline at 988 or visit https://mentalhealthhotline.org/ or call 866-903-3787
